New Brain Stimulation Device; Transcranial Laser Stimulation; updated research articles and more!
Greetings!
I hope your weekend is blissful, and if you’re going through something, my best wishes to you to be strong and kind.
This week, we are excited to present a brain stimulator with 280 diodes, yes you heard that right, let’s power up those neurons! But before we show you the gizmo we’ve been experimenting with since a year now, let’s see what it’s all about.
The way that near-infrared lasers and light-emitting diodes (LEDs) interact with brain function is based on bioenergetics. The field of low-level light/laser therapy (LLLT), development of a model of how luminous energy from red-to-near-infrared wavelengths modulates bioenergetics began with in vitro and in vivo discoveries in the last 40 years. Previous LLLT reviews have provided extensive background about historical developments, principles and applications (Rojas and Gonzalez-Lima, 2011, 2013; Chung et al., 2012).
Transcranial infrared laser stimulation produces beneficial effects on frontal cortex functions such as sustained attention, working memory, and depression. Transcranial laser stimulation with low-power density (mW/cm2) and high-energy density (J/cm2) monochromatic light in the near-infrared wavelengths modulates brain functions and may produce neurotherapeutic effects in a safe and non-thermal manner (Lampl, 2007; Hashmi et al., 2010). Barrett and Gonzalez-Lima (2013) provided the first controlled study showing that transcranial laser stimulation improves human cognitive and emotional brain functions.
LLLT is a highly promising, affordable, non-invasive treatment for improving cognitive function. LLLT delivers safe doses of light energy that are sufficiently high to modulate neuronal functions, but low enough to not result in any damage (Wong-Riley et al., 2005).
One session to the forehead, as reported by Schiffer et al. (2009), produced a significant antidepressant effect in depressed patients. No adverse side effects were found either immediately or at 2 or 4 weeks after LLLT. Thus, these beneficial LLLT treatments have been found to be safe in humans. There’s more compelling research on LLLT for stroke, traumatic brain injury, psychiatric disorders, parkinsons, alzheimer's disease, autism and more.
The research is there, and it’s a beautiful experience! While PEMF will help, like all frequency based devices, the effects usually plateau in about 6 months of regular use. That’s what lead me to explore more possibilities to provide improvements beyond PEMF. Molecular hydrogen inhalation is amazing for the brain, and so is LLLT.
Our also new, the LLLT Complete device provides the possible to treat the brain from other angles using intra-nasal, intra-aural and intra-oral path to target the brain (along with sinuses and throat).
I hope our research articles and product reviews help you making an informed choice and beneficial application of PEMF and other wellness technologies that we write about. We also have special discounts for old customers, clinics and distributors. Currently our shop is configured to provide more than 25% discount on most products all year round, that means no need to wait for “mother’s days” and “independence day” to get the best deal.
We welcome your questions and love working with practitioners including physiotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, functional medicine practitioners and natural medicine doctors among many others. Simply write to us if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
